Originator, initiator and a major driving force behind SuperTerminal Memphis, a major transportation initiative currently being implemented by the City of Memphis and State of Tennessee. Superterminal Memphis is a 1000-acre intermodal rail terminal which will house all five of Memphis’ Railroads. This public-private partnership is funded by a $200 million private sector investment and $160 million in public funding. This project will remove $63 million per year of cost from the Memphis area intermodal system. The 20-year Mid-South economic impact will be $20 billion, and since Superterminal Memphis adds capacity to the national intermodal system, the Department of Commerce models have demonstrated that the 20-year national economic impact is $2.7 trillion.
