The primary all-cargo carriers serving Tampa are Airborne Express, DHL, Emery Worldwide, and Federal Express. The number one commodity shipped by air out of Florida is industrial/commercial machinery and computers, followed by smaller electrical/electronic machinery and supplies. The third most popular export group includes optical instruments and lenses, medical and dental equipment, and photographic equipment. For passenger airlines, a large portion of cargo is comprised of goldfish and human remains.

Citrus and melons, new and used cars, frozen poultry and steel coils, limestone and lumber, pulp and paper, these are but a few of the products that are moving through Tampa more efficiently that ever before. Carnival has 2 ships that dock there. Ship owners and their captains know Tampa as a port of first resort when it comes to year round ship building, maintenance and repair. Port lands along Channelside Drive are being developed as the vital link between downtown and Ybor City entertainment district. 
  Port Manatee is Del Monte's largest U.S. port facility and one of the port's highest revenue-producing tenants. Approximately 2,000 used cars and trucks are exported each month from Port Manatee to Central America. It ranks number one nationally for importing frozen concentrated orange juice and is the nation's leading export location for citrus juices and beverages.
  The University of South Florida, in coordination with the Tampa Bay Partnership, has announced that Gary Brosch, Director of the USF Center for Urban Transportation Research, will assume the post of USF's Congressional Transportation Liaison for the Tampa Bay Partnership. The Partnership is a business-led marketing organization promoting economic development for the seven-county Tampa Bay area.
